We can help custom design a piece of jewelry which compliments an existing piece, updates an old jewelry design, or suggests the feel of something you've been attracted to.

The staff at Jeffrey Jewelry work with you to clearly identify your desires. Our professionals are trained to draw out your thoughts and describe them in terms our master goldsmiths can work from. Often our goldsmiths will then consult from a practical design view point. Surprisingly, not a lot is new over the centuries in jewelry, and we may be able to recommend a manufactured piece that is just exactly what you seek.

Work begins..

Your desires are then translated into a wax model that may be turned, carved, or built up to match your custom jewelry design. Some designs are fabricated from actual sheet gold or silver. Gem stones and diamonds are selected from the huge stock available to Jeffrey's. The whole piece is then assembled as a model and offered for your review.

Jeffrey's then casts your piece in any shade of Gold, Silver, or Platinum. Two tone designs with different shades of gold or mixing metals are popular. We meticulously smooth and polish the casting. The stones are then set and the piece goes back to be polished again. Now it is ready for your final fitting.

Many customers are inhibited from requesting a custom handmade design. They may feel they don't know if their idea will work, or know how to communicate their desires to a goldsmith. Jeffrey's staff are trained and experienced at helping take your idea and transforming it to reality!

Below is an example of our Custom Jewelry design process :

Project: Make a multi-colored Gold Flame ring.

Layout the colors and layers to go on a white gold base.

Plan how the colors will overlap.

Soldering and hammering the layers in place.

Finally the bezels for the stones are added connecting the circles.

The 14k white gold piece is refined, cleaned and polished, and the stones are set. Represented are the Father, Mother, Daughter, and younger Daughter. The stones from top to bottom are blue topaz (December), pink tourmaline (October), amethyst (February) and diamond (April). A chain to complement the design is added.

This handmade custom design captures the idea of the customer, has been translated into gold, and become a birthday gift for the mother to treasure!
